Sink and float experiment activity worksheet
The purpose behind these sink or float worksheet is to help young children to understand the concept of sinking and floating through drawing and sorting activities and predicting and identifying which objects will sink or float in water. In some worksheets kids need to write “Yes” or “No” to predict whether each listed object (like toy car, pencil, eraser, coin, etc.) will sink or float. There are cut-and-paste activity, where children cut out images of objects and paste them in either the “sink” or “float” category. Then there is an experiment where children first predict if objects (such as kettle, knife, keys, etc.) will sink or float, then perform the experiment and write the actual result. There are activity where kids will circle the objects from a group that will float and in some kids need to color the objects as per the instructions. There are worksheets where children will sort various objects into two categories: those that will sink in water and those that will float.
