These are the Present tense exercises pdf worksheets for grade 1. Present tense tells about an action that that takes place or is taking place in the present.
The simple present tense is a grammatical tense which is used to describe the habitual or routine actions which are generally true. It is used to talk about actions that happen regularly, facts, general truth etc. The simple present tense is formed by using the base form of the verb (e.g., walk, talk, eat) with the addition of an -s or -es ending for third-person singular subjects (he, she, it).
Below are few examples :
- He plays the guitar every evening. (a habitual action)
- The sun rises in the east. (it’s a fact)
- Dogs bark. (it’s a general truth)
- I work as a police officer. (state of being)
